Teams

#NowkaBais2025
Teams will comprise of up to 12 paddlers only plus a drummer/instrumental maximum of 13 on a boat – squads may be larger (max 15 that includes a subs). Crews can be mixed, all female or all male and organisations may enter more than one crew. The minimum age is 16 and no previous experience of Nowka Bais racing is required. All crew members must be confident in cold water conditions, in light clothing and in moving water and compete entirely at their own risk. Qualified helms, buoyancy aids and water safety cover will be provided.

Rules

Gable Events are the appointed contractor to manage and oversee races. All crews accepted for entry must abide with the competition rules and the entry details which can be found on the Nowka Bais website. Each crew is guaranteed a minimum of 3 races (subject to conditions).

Stall Bookings

We invite all traders and stall holders be part of Nowka Bais! Please take a look at the options available for our public entertainment and food arts and crafts. There will be a dedicated area for our entertainment where public not viewing the race with come to to enjoy hot and cold food as well as things to buy. We are a perfect place to showcase your business or even charity.

1: (HIGH RISK FOOD ZONE)

This year, we have introduced a food zone concept to serve a range of food for visitors to the Nowka Bais.

The size of the traders pitch in the food zone provide you with the advantage of displaying your own single and / or banners of your organisation should you wish.

All Hot Food and High Risk Food (food zone) – 3m x 3m marquee

i.e. food that is not commercially pre-packaged and food containing meat, fish, milk, eggs, cooked rice/pasta, prepared (fruit) salad, etc.

Directions to Edgbaston Reservoir

By Car from the North:

Enter Birmingham on the A38(M) (Junction 6 of the M6). Leave at the second exit. At the island take the third exit and follow the dual carriageway Ring Road. Cross 2 sets of (crossroad) traffic lights and follow the Ring Road round 2 further islands. Go across another set of traffic lights and straight on at the next large island. At the (5th) island, take the 3rd exit into Icknield Port Road – signposted ‘Edgbaston Reservoir Watersports’. The sailing club entrance is approximately .25 miles on the left – just after The Venue Banqueting Centre – and there is a signpost just before it.
